The Philadelphia Starlings

Philadelphia, City-Wide

www.phillystarlings.org

Philadelphia Starlings is a youth Volleyball program located in Philadelphia. Their mission is to teach, coach, and expand the interest in volleyball for Philadelphia girls and boys. Their guiding principle has been to provide opportunities for these players to participate regardless of their socioeconomic background. Club dues are a fraction of most junior club costs, and no player is turned away because of inability to pay. We are a non-profit, tax-exempt organization in a nationwide program serving some 3,000 players in 50-plus clubs across America and a strategic partner with the School District of Philadelphia.‍

Sori Sports Volleyball Academy

Northeast Philadelphia

www.ssvaphilly.com

We are one of few Clubs situated in the actual city of Philadelphia and based out of the greater northeast area. So while the area suburban clubs may have all the bells and whistles, most run cookie cutter programs. We like to consider our Club more as a hybrid one. And what I mean by that is they will expect your daughter to only concentrate on volleyball and are very demanding practice and tournament time wise. And that’s ok but we know most of our players need time for their academics and many are multi sport athletes. Some clubs will require you to practice 2-3 times a week and have tournaments just about every weekend from January to May.

Again, all fine and good but that doesn’t offer much time for your athlete to do much else. Our season starts practice in December and our tournament season ends in March leaving the Spring open for other activities. We do also offer a Spring season as well but that’s separate from the winter season. We run one practice a week from one of our locations and play in about 7 tournaments a season. We tailor our practices to our team’s specific needs  and accomplish more in less practice time than what other clubs do in more.

Look at our social media pages you can see our results in tournaments. We are just as successful as the other clubs and even better against them.

And finally we know most of our athletes play in other club sports which we know can be expensive for families so we try to keep our expenses down to keep our tuition payment low. Our fee is, in some cases, half of the other clubs. Do your research and you will see. Join the SSVA Family 💙🏐💙

Equinox Volleyball Club

Delaware County, PA

www.equinoxvbc.com

At Equinox VBC, our primary goal is to develop volleyball players of all ages and abilities as a whole in our area.  We truly believe that with the right attitude and ambition anything is possible. Our mission is to develop both the player's skills and values. We want to develop “team oriented” players that play with the RIGHT WAY philosophy!!  That means the right skills, the right attitude and the player possessing the right “team” concept. Yes, we would like to win, but not at all costs.  If the player is patient and embraces the opportunities through our training to learn skills correctly; they will gain the experience necessary to achieve their goals and the success of winning will follow! Success is not just the development of skill but the development of becoming a good person (on and off the court).  We want the players to learn how to play the sport properly, with dignity and class. We strive to promote an environment of positive reinforcement and focusing on working as a team while improving the individual player themselves. We encourage each player to be supportive of their teammates at all times. If we can accomplish this, we believe these young players will eventually graduate high school with the desire to play well into their college years and beyond. Playing the sport of volleyball will allow them to meet people with similar life goals and aspirations.  The Equinox Volleyball Club system will assist in developing and nurturing these athletes to achieve their goals, whatever it may be as well as becoming a “team” in all aspects of life!
