Revco Winter 2026

Getting there

McGonigle Hall

1800 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19121

Use the main entrance to McGonigle on Broad street. When you walk in, go up the stairs and to the right towards the PNC ATM. Go through the doors there, and down the stairs. Once you get down to the lower level, follow the hallway to the left to the gym

Parking

There's no parking lot, so make sure that you give yourself enough time to find street parking. If you live near public transit, the gym is close to a BSL stop

Refs and Rules

There is no ref during the regular season to help keep costs down. Most of y'all have been playing here for a while, so I doubt we'll have issues, but just to lay some ground rules:

  • It's a competitive league so be competitive, but don't be an asshole. Everyone is here to play good volleyball, and have fun
  • Make sure to call the score before EVERY serve
  • If a point is really unclear or contentious replay it
  • After each set, write the score down (there will be a score sheet at the ref stand/with the ref for the coed 6s league - we'd like to have individual set scores in case we need them for tiebreakers)
  • Input scores promptly into Opensports

You will play 3 sets each week. First two sets to 25, win by 2 cap at 27, third set to 21, cap at 23.

Following Indoor Quads rules and anything not specified there is USAV Indoor Rules

  • Men may not make contact with the ball to send it over the net from above the height of the net in front of the 10ft line
  • Only one male player hit and only one male player may jump serve each set (does not have to be the same player)
  • No rotation required however you must serve in order
  • Hand setting/pushing the ball over the net is NOT permitted
  • No open hand tips
  • No directional blocking (redirecting the ball with fingertip
    • You can throw straight down, deflect a ball in any direction with a firm hand /swat, but you cannot throw/swipe using your fingertip to change the direction
  • The second contact can be doubled as long as it is one action and stays on your side of the net

Subs

You can have any subs you want in the regular season. For playoff, subs must have played on your team at least once during the regular season.

Timing

We have 11 teams so there will be 5 matches each week and we will have 1 extra match played on the 2nd court each week either at 9:30pm or 6:30pm. Make sure that in addition to checking the time of your match you check the court. Our main court will be the "North Court" and the 2nd court which will have the Coed 6s league playing is the "South Court"

Since we don't have a ref, I am relying on captains to keep games running on time. You should start maximum 5min after the scheduled start time for your match. If a team does not have all their players present, they can play with 2-3 people, pull in a subs (likely players a previous game) or forfeit the first game.

Try to get there early to dress/warm up. The gym is not as tight as many of our other locations so there is space to actually stretch or do some light peppering/warmups behind the courts (please make sure to not be rolling stray balls into active games.) Ideally as soon as the earlier game is done, you're starting hitting lines.

Playoffs

We will have 2 weeks of playoffs, and a gold/silver bracket for since we have 11 teams.

The current plan is to take the top 7 teams in Gold bracket, and Bottom 4 to Silver bracket. Tie breakers for seeding will be head-to-head > strength-of-schedule > Point diff

Gold will have Quarter week 1 (1 seed gets a bye, and plays the lowest remaining seed for Semis) and Semis + Finals Week 2.

Silver will have Semis on week 1, and finals week 2.
